Information About China Cymbals

China cymbals are type of cymbals used by percussionists, usually on their drum kit. Generally speaking, there are three tonal types of cymbals drummers use - Chinese, Turkish, and Western/European, although Western is really a derivate of Turkish cymbals. The China cymbals are a class all of their own.
While most people think of cymbals that resonate sweetly, with a clear, rich sound, these are produced to create an abrasive, gritty, explosive, dirty, trashy sound that is very necessary in music. Although not manufactured solely in China anymore, their histories still bear Chinese names.
