The first day of school is coming up for many children and parents all around. As a parent you must just as excited as your children for the return to school! It is a great celebration to be had. A celebration for the first day of school can bring you and your children to get excited about school and learning. It can help your children get excited about going to school and become successful in school.
If you have a child entering kindergarten you are probably already planning a celebration because it will be their first time in school. However, making a celebration every year for the first day of school (regardless of what grade they are entering) can make it really exciting for the whole family. When your child enters yet another grade it can be overwhelming and even stressful. There are so many tasks and errands that need to be completed before they return to school again. This can become exhausting. There can also be a sense of loss of summer fun for children. This is why it is so important to celebrate the first day of school no matter how old your kids are.
Promote your children’s success in school with a celebration of their first day of school each and every year. If you are going to be working that day ask your boss for the day off, or at least a few hours, so you can celebrate with your children. Most bosses will comply and understand. You might even get them to do the same thing if they are a parent as well!
Creating a tradition of celebrating the first day of school with your children gets you involved more in your child’s school and education. Your children will feel your love and care, and get that you care about their education. This alone can help them succeed in school. Schools should work with families for their support on children’s education. Unfortunately, they are not educated on the importance of intertwining the community, parents and teachers. More have learned about this in the past years and welcome parents. You may have to comply with certain security rules, but all you have to do is call and ask about it.
Make this your new family tradition and enjoy the benefits for all of you!
