Heartburn Treatment – Are There Natural Remedy Alternatives?

If you are unlucky enough to suffer from heartburn, and are looking for your first heartburn treatment, you will find that they are many and varied. Yet, despite the large number of suggested heartburn treatment remedies available, large numbers of people continue to report that they have yet to find the miracle heartburn treatment that works well for them on every level.
For those who fall prey to the condition, the symptoms, necessitating heartburn treatment include, gross discomfort and even pain after eating, acid reflux, difficulty sleeping, irritability and high levels of stress. Needless, to say, with these symptoms, summoning up the energy to source out and experiment with alternative remedies in a bid to find the ideal heartburn treatment proves too much of a challenge for many.
So what are the various approaches taken to remedy the condition? Well, at one extreme, in serious cases with complications, where there is no responses to heartburn treatment, surgery is occasionally said to be the answer. In such cases the stomach is wrapped around the esophagus to prevent acid reflux. However for the vast majority, prescription or over the counter drugs are advised.
Typical prescription drug heartburn treatments have fancy names like histamine blockers, proton blockers and promotility agents and are most often prescribed to be taken before eating. It seems especially notable that, though traditional, often antacid prescription drug heartburn treatment does work for some, many, not least of all pregnant women, consider that settling for such pill popping remedies, is too much of a risk to the unborn foetus.
Worrying also is the long lists of side effects that may be associated with any one prescription heartburn treatment. These include anything from headache, nausea, gas, fatigue, sore throat, dizziness and runny nose to abdominal pain, constipation, restlessness and movement problems.
Many, it seems, are also concerned about the fact that often, antacid heartburn treatment is prescribed in conjunction with antibiotics. A single bout of the complaint necessitating one heartburn treatment in isolation would be of little concern. However, the more likely scenario of repetitive episodes over extended time periods necessitating repeat cycles of heartburn treatment would raise the real danger of antibiotic resistance. It seems, therefore, that an alternative heartburn treatment is sorely called for.
With regard to finding a natural heartburn treatment, there are now a small number available which are said to be effective. Naturally the attraction of these are a lack of side effects. In the publication, Stop heartburn Fast, Thomas Dwyer, talks about a heartburn treatment, which he claims can be made up from most kitchen cupboard ingredients. The secret, he claims, is knowing how to combine them in the right proportions. It is claimed that this heartburn treatment has proved especially effective in trials. Dwyer also describes certain types of tea, as working miracles in the field of heartburn treatment, while cautioning that the wrong type of this beverage can make matters far worse.
